+ Set Fire to My Heart +

The sun was beginning to set in the horizon with a light breeze brushing through out the woods with the leaves softly brushing against each other as Lykaios sat high in a tree, watching over the tree house while Melanite was away. He was always around, where it was in a tree in the distance or literally under the tree house to watch over her as thoughts of her corrupted his mind like disease. Suddenly he heards steps approaching, his ears twitching from the sound as he turned his head to spot her walking along the small path as he lifted his feet and hid within the leave of the tree he resided in.

She was as beautiful as the first time he laid eyes upon her, her crisp turquoise eyes appealing to him as he leaned forward a bit to notice his carrying a bag of what looked to be some sort of foods, mostly fruit and vegetables as he sat back again as she climb the stairs up to the small wooden house. He could hear what the things she was doing, a bag rustling as she would open a cupboard and place the items in before hearing some sort of fabric hit the floor. She was undressing from her normal attire before walking out from the door to the patio, her eyes staring off into the woods before a heavy sigh was heard.

Lykaios's ears perked to the sound, seeing a tear form in her eye before she wiped it away with a soft smile and looked down at her paws. "Now's not the time to think about her! She probably already moved on.." She stated aloud to herself before taking a deep breath and exhaling. Her magic glands began to glow a soft red as she focused on her paws where a few sparks would fly before giving up and taking another breath. Lykaios watched in curiousity, moving from the leaves as her magic glands began to glow once again, a few sparks flying before a small fireball formed within' her paws.

Lykaios's paw touched a branch only for it to snap and caused Melanite to turn, throwing her hands forward at the figure before her. Lykaios didn't have time to react, his eyes widening with fear as he attempted to protect himself, the flamed hitting him in the face as he fell back. Thud! He lied there on the ground, his ears ringing and his vision blurry as he stumbled to get up, running away from the treehouse and into the woods. Melanite ran to the edge, looking down to see nothing there as her brows furrowed, eyes scanning the area before giving up and returning inside as she closed the door behind her.

Lykaios travelled a distance, his knees giving in ever couple of seconds as he finally fell to the grass beneath him, his breathing heavy as he raised a paw to his face only to flinch back from the pain. Did he get cut from the fall? He heard a rustling, turning his head to see his coatala with a dead puckoo before dropping it and rushing to his side to peer at the wound across his eye. A small burn was there, the fur around it lightly singed as the blood had already dried. The coatala dropped to the floor as his eye followed her as she picked the puckoo up and motioned her head lightly in a direction as he stood back up and followed her.

A few minutes passed as they arrived to an abandoned building that was long forgotten about with vines growing up the walls and the wood clearly decayed from the exposure to the elements. Lykaios stumbled before finally falling to the cobblestoned floor, the last of his energy being used to push himself onto his back as the light faded into darkness.
